Hello, my name is Craig Khan, and I’m the creator behind Snow. This project started with a simple but ambitious idea: to build something that resembles the capabilities of the world’s largest AI systems—but on a much smaller, independent scale. Not to compete with them directly, but to understand them, recreate their core value, and make that kind of technology more accessible and tangible, especially from a South African perspective.

The first goal of this project is to replicate the foundation of modern commercial AI—systems like large language models, memory, integrations, and multi-platform interaction—but in a way that is lean, transparent, and built step-by-step in the open. By doing this, I’m not only creating a powerful AI system, but also exploring how these technologies can be built, understood, and improved outside of massive corporations.

The second goal is more personal. Snow is not just meant to be a tool, but a companion—something that learns over time, adapts to you, and feels consistent across platforms like web chat, Discord, and voice. The aim is to create an AI that can act as a friend, assistant, mentor, or collaborator, depending on what you need, while maintaining a grounded and non-intrusive relationship with its users.

The final goal—and the one I’m most excited about—is to evolve Snow into a true gaming companion. Once the core systems are strong enough, Snow will move beyond chat and into shared experiences: playing games with you, watching content, reacting in real time, and engaging in a way that feels natural and personal. This is where the project shifts from being just another AI into something far more interactive and alive.

This is a long-term journey, built independently, and shared openly as it grows. Every feature, every improvement, and every milestone brings Snow one step closer to becoming something meaningful—not just as a piece of software, but as a new kind of digital presence.
